  • Ken Bate Associates have supported Thomas Cook Airlines in the delivery of NVQs Level 2 in Customer Service and Level 3 in Management. This was as part of a new scheme to support our Cabin Crew wishing to progress their learning and qualifications. Ken and his team have provided invaluable information and support, providing time to come in and talk to us about the qualifications, funding and recent Government developments regarding NVQs.They are always able to answer any concerns, and respond very quickly to any queries.   • In Autumn 2014 the Skills Gateway (a partnership between GM Chamber and GMLN) engaged Ken Bate Associates Limited to conduct a substantive piece of research into the quality of training provision delivered within the Greater Manchester Area.
    The approach took data from the Skills funding Agency CSR, Ofsted reports and other published sources of data to determine the quality of provision across SSA’s allowing the Skills Gateway to provide a positive service to employer enquiries for Apprenticeship delivery. Ken provided a professional and responsive service against tight deadlines and complex data demands. The resulting data has provided a working legacy to GM Chamber which supports GM LEP’s skills agenda.

  • In early summer 2014 North West Provider Network decided to respond to government’s apprenticeship reform consultation but knowing that government was more likely to listen to employer’s views we set out to both encourage employer awareness of the proposed reforms and to encourage them to respond directly. We asked Ken to directly support us . Working through each of our 5 north west sub regional networks he developed briefing , logged responses , provided a help line and drafted our regional response . Our approach was very success with over 450 employers responding meaning that around 50% of the national responses came form the north west making government think again about a number of their proposals . Ken played a key role earning respect from colleagues across the region . His calm and thorough approach was much appreciated and nothing was too much trouble, including working at weekends when needed.

  • Stockport College continues to engage Ken Bate Associates having employed their services for eighteen months to date. The team has supported the College by providing interim management support for work based learning, apprenticeships and employability provision. During this time, they provided support in preparation for Ofsted, reacting quickly and offering highly qualified and experienced associates who have provided excellent specialist support, which was invaluable in helping us to achieving Key Performance Indicators. The feedback from learners, staff, employers and stakeholders was very positive, which in turn improved success rates, teaching, learning and assessment observation grades and levels of learner satisfaction. As lead interim, Ken provided excellent support to the College, settled in really quickly and at no stage did it feel like we had an interim manager. He shared our commitment and values of delivering the very best learning experience to all our learners.

  • The GMLPN has worked with Ken on a number of occasions over the past 5 years, most notably on coordinating activity across the North-West to respond to the Apprenticeship Levy consultation and establishing procedures for the Greater Manchester Skills Gateway Catalogue of provision.
